AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

Remember how the Steelers draft defensive backs?  It’s not the flash or sizzle, it’s the steak.  Well watch the fundamentals our new DB shows in this video.  I enjoyed the tackling part of Lewis’ game.  Some great music in ‘part one’ of the video…

Reds Brandon Phillips: ‘Since You’ve Been Writing About Me Not Hitting, We Haven’t Been Winning’

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

Brandon Phillips hasn’t been hitting well. But that doesn’t cause the Reds to lose. What causes the Reds to lose is the fact that the Cincy beat writers are writing about it.  Phillips is hitting .188.

Colbert’s Scouts Find ”Best QB in the Draft”

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

I know you probably aren’t surprised by this, but the crack team in the Steelers scouting office is at it again.  He found the camp arm in Mike Reilly, but wait, this might be a little more than we think. Escapability of Ben?  Check out this video as DII Central Washington takes on DI Montana.  About 3:40 is where he does the Ben impersonation. *Enter   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJufP5ryZvg We took a quick look at the undrafted QB and instantly found some great stuff.  It looks like the 49ers worked him out and many people liked him.   03/05/09 – Mike [...]

Watch Your Step: Fake Pirate Fans Can Now Exit the Ship

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Pirates dropped a tough one today to the Brewers. I am over it. For some reason, we make the Brewers look awfully tough. Chris Duffy (.100 batting average in two starts) made their roster for God’s sake.   How do the Brewers get that many people to attend a mid week game?

I remember watching the video of punter Dan Sepulveda on You Tube a few year’s back. This one is pretty good too, I saw this on Mondesi’s House. Check this video clip out of new Steeler Frank ‘the Tank’ Summers. *Enter

A Pirates Fan in DC

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

Alright, alright I am back.  Enough with the emails telling me how much you missed me, although I must say it is flattering to have a following.  Thank you.  I am back to the regular schedule until next week.  And I will get something figured out for all you Rumbunter crazed fans of this nonsensical mess of a blog. I had to share this with you about my trip.  In my line of work, I get to entertain clients and most of the time it happens in Washington DC.   On Monday night I was looking for a spot to enjoy [...]

Who is Buying This Start? My Hand Is In the Air

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

OK, Turn Back the Clock.  The story below was posted on April 4.  We have reached our first step in the Elephant eating contest or the ‘way to break this crazy streak.’  And it is going quite well, in spite of an onslaught of adversity.

New Steeler Guard Not a Steeler History Whiz

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

Bruce Arians said he would love to have him.  Kevin Colbert got him.  The Steelers picked Kraig Urbik, a lineman from The University of Wisconsin today.   In one of his first interviews he was stumped when asked on 970AM  if he was familiar with the former Steeler lineman from Wisconsin.  Most people would think Mike Webster would be known by another lineman from his University.  Kraig Urbik wasn’t able to answer the trivia question.  Oh well, nice work 970AM Steeler Trivia hosts.  Keep blocking Kraig, we will let it slide. More links on Urbik.

Steelers Nab Guard Urbik Before Pats. WR Wallace Looks To Win Return Job

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

A couple of quick hits on the Steelers before I run to softball training….Kraig Urbik of Wisconsin looks like a great pick.  He was being eyed by the Patriots.  Sorry Bill, he is ours now.  You enjoy rehabbing the marijuana smoker, Brandon Tate. Urbik is versatile, strong and a hard worker, which is a good start. A four-year starter for the Badgers, Urbik is hoping to continue the tradition of well-prepared, tough offensive linemen Wisconsin has sent to the NFL, like Washington’s Casey Rabach and 2007 top-five draft pick Joe Thomas. Urbik began the first 16 games of his career [...]
