The Manatee Community College team steps on the field today against the Bucs.  A sign that we are nearing the end of a long camp. It hasn’t been a Harlem Globetrotters vs Washington Generals type affair, but rather a little close for comfort over the years.   5-0 was last year’s final.  The game gives fans a view of the talent in the system.  Should be fun today.

According to SI, the Pirates will be the worst.  Mets will win World Series.  References to Nutty Professor, the Pirate staff not being able to be saved by TARP…ahh spring is here, let’s play ball!

Frank Coonelly says the Pirates won’t build the rotation from free agents in this article.  He also mentions agressively pursuing trades, Jose Tabata, and dollar menus.

In AAA action, Robinzon Diaz continues to prove why he is the ”offensive” catcher. He is tearing it up with two triples yesterday in two plate appearances, he has five hits in his last three games.  (If you remember, we got Diaz for Jose Bautista who this spring hit .421 for the Blue Jays)

Tom Gorzelany also went five innings and gave up no earned runs and struck out six batters yesterday against Scranton.
