Pirates Prove Culture of Winning, VSL Pirates are Champs

Many in Pittsburgh have blasted the Pirates claims of building a culture of winning.  Well, the Pirates have won something.  The VSL Pirates (45-17) are the Venezuelan Summer League champions thumping the VSL Rays (35-27) by a score of 14-9.

The Wait is Over!

With a handful of games left, you might want to start following the team although they have it wrapped up.  You can get started in the right direction with the VSL schedule here.

Check out the stats, Trinidad (1b) leads the league with 54 RBI and 13 HR.   Bishop (ss) batted .312 and led the league in runs, hits, and is just one stolen base (24) shy of the stolen base crown which currently would go to Sosa with (25).  Also, the Pirates dominated the pitching statistics as well.  From ERA to WHIP, the numbers show the domination.

Keep on fighting to the end fellas.

Congratulations!  Pop the champagne baby!
