Veal and Tabata Dominate the Desert

Donnie Veal    continues to show why he will win a spot in the Pirates starting rotation in 2010 with pitching like he has shown in the Arizona Fall League.  Another strong start from the lefthander yesterday with four innings pitched and only two hits allowed.

Veal struckout five batters to lower his ERA to .71 and opponents are hitting .159 against him.

In 12.2 innings pitched Veal has allowed seven hits, one earned run, two walks and twelve strikeouts.

Jose Tabata continues to scorch AFL pitching with another three hit night.  Tabata’s line follows .373OBP, .492SLG, .865OPS.

If this keeps up, how much better does 2010 look for the Bucs?  The two players with the most upside are killing the AFL.

Happy Halloween!
