Buddy Paine was the North East Scouting Supervisor for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Paine was one of the most respected men in the scouting community. He was a straight shooter and was never, ever, a ‘yes’ man. Unfortunately, he was taken from us too quickly. He passed away 18 months ago after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
However, his work has left many memories including the great story of Pete Parise that you can read about here, and this impressive senior from Lehman High in the Bronx, Tyler Gurman.
