Pittsburgh Pirate Neil Walker is Ready and Willing

The Neil Walker question you want to know is answered. Rumbunter readers devoured the Neil Walker interview we had a while back, but many had a lingering question about the switch-hitting catcher turned third basemen. It was his approach at the plate.

The lingering question was this:  what adjustments has Walker made to be more patient at the plate?

It’s a great question and one that Walker gave a thoughtful answer to as well.

Walker told RumBunter, “Really growing as a hitter and being more selective go hand in hand with that question. Taking some pitches early in the count that aren’t in the zone that I am looking for is also something I am going to work on in Spring Training and going forward.”

The snow is not something Walker will have to worry about any longer, he heads to Florida today.  He will be there in the morning.  He is fully aware of the situation ahead of him and is well prepared for the fight of his life. “I’m ready for the season to get going, I’ve worked hard this offseason and feel I can help the team win, and am willing to help out anyway I can. ”

Mark it down Bucco fans.  Walker will have a year to remember.
