Bucs Seek Redemption at Windy PNC Park; Iwamura Benched

The Pittsburgh Pirates put Jeff Karstens on the mound tonight against a Cardinals lineup devoid of Matt Holliday.  Andrew McCutchen is the story for the Buccos.  Can Cutch stay hot?  He is hitting .471 in the month of May.  His OPS is sick 1.236, just unreal.

Rob Biertempfel reports that the Pirates have benched Aki Iwamura, their second baseman, and highest paid player.  Iwamura failed to run on a sure out which nobody is talking about, but what was more noticeable was missing the tag in the ninth inning last night.  He also has been hitting just .125 against lefthanders.  The Cards put their outstanding LHP Jamie Garcia on the bump tonight.

The Pirates lineup will have Bobby Crosby at second base for Iwarmura and also features the return of Steve Pearce to first base.  I haven’t heard anything about Ryan Church today after he was hit in the hand during the ninth inning last night.
