Still Rippin The Jason Bay Trade? Uh, Not So Fast
Ask any average Pirates fan what they think of Jason Bay and stories will vary a little bit. Some feel he was phenomenal, others questioned his defense and his off year, some imagine his failures in pressure situations, but nearly everyone will agree Jason Bay was a fantastic story. A Pittsburgh Pirate the city was proud to know. Bryan Morris is a great story too. It just took a while. Whether the Pirates got enough for Jason Bay is an argument that will be settled very soon. Most fans wanted much, much more and it is a very valid point looking at the [...]
How Did Jeff Karstens Get Ignored?
Remember earlier in the year when Jeff Karstens threw six shutout innings against the Cardinals? Sure you do. Because after he and the relief corps shut down the Cards, he earned himself a trip to the bullpen. Karstens and four relievers combined on a four hitter in a 2-0 Pirates victory. Karstens isn’t rattled by stupid moves made by this ballclub. Remember when Karstens pitched against Stephen Strasburg at Strasmas? He pitched well. Nobody noticed he ran out of gas until it was too late. Sorta like Bradenton. Remember Karstens in spring training? Nobody

` In what has become a trend for the Pittsburgh Pirates a second baseman left Monday night’s game with the Chicago Cubs with concussion-like symptoms. Tonight’s victim was Bobby Crosby after colliding with right fielder Lastings Milledge. Geovany Soto hit a flare down the right field line and Milledge charged as Crosby was running hard toward the ball with his back toward Milledge. The Pirates players collided and the ball dropped, Milledge’s glove went flying, and Crosby was face down after bouncing off Milledge’s right shoulder. Crosby was playing second base because on Saturday, Ryan Church collided with second baseman Neil Walker. Walker had to leave the game and hasn’t [...]
Can The Cubs Fix The Pirates Road Woes?
The Pittsburgh Pirates have no road victories this month. Yeh, that hurts. The Pittsburgh Pirates limp into Chicago for a division series with the Cubs. Chicago might as well be PNC Park for the Pirates. The Bucs played very well in Wrigley last month. The Cubs were struggling at the time, but that isn’t entirely the case this time around. One fundamental difference
