Bucs Look to Continue Trend Versus Tigers Bonderman

The Pirates will take on the Tigers and RHP Jeremy Bonderman, who has been winless in his last three outings.

Bonderman was ripped for seven runs on 11 hits, while striking out only two in 5.2 innings against Kansas City this past Sunday.  Bonderman has given up three long balls in his last two outings.  So, it will be good to see the Bucs take him deep.   He isn’t getting the swing and a miss either with just three over 13.2  IP.

The Bucs counter with LHP Paul Maholm.  Last Saturday, Maholm got a W against the Giants.  A win has has been difficult for Pirates starters as they have been mostly pathetic this season.  But Maholm pitched well and allowed just two earned runs.  He limited San Fran to six hits over 6.1 innings.  He struckout one and didn’t issue a free pass.

Maholm was called the ace on the Pirates website.  That shit drives me nuts, especially when the ‘ace’ has issued 27 walks in 73.1IP while sitting down just 42.
