Catcher Chris Snyder left Monday night’s game after getting hit by a foul tip in the groin area. About an hour before Tuesday’s game the Diamondbacks put him on the 15-day disabled list with a left testicular fracture.

Snyder will undergo surgery on Wednesday with Melvin hoping his return is relatively soon.

“Hopefully looking at a 15-day period, where he is back after the All-Star break,” Melvin said after the D-Backs 8-6 loss to the Brewers on Tuesday night.

You should be thankful the video has been chewed up by MLB. Wait, I have to throw up.

After all of this, Snyder stayed in the game.

Yeh, like I was saying welcome to the Pittsburgh Baseball Club tough guy. The men of Pittsburgh are not worthy. Ryan Doumit this is your wakeup call.

This was announced Wednesday, July 02, 2008 (Bob Melvin is two managers ago now). Coincidentally, though, the Diamondbacks are currently in another series with the Brewers (I just finished watching the game).

Snyder’s a good kid. He fits the old catcher stereotype. Tall, slow, overweight, swings a big bat… I enjoyed watching him, as much as I like Miguel Montero. So relax as much as you can after what you just read. Snyder is alright.
