It’s a scary pitching matchup tonight at PNC Park. Ricky Nolasco faces Zach Duke.
Nolasco has been Hyde one night and Jekkyl the next start. The Cards lit him up for seven in five and then Nolasco came back in his last start to ring up eight Nats in six scoreless innings.
Duke has been solid since coming off the DL giving up more than three earned runs only once while he piled up four QS.
Ronny Cedeno was a late scratch Dejan tweeted.
That can’t be good. It was reported on the team website that he received a cortisone shot. Apparently it didn’t help. Keep an eye out for a roster move. Who in the world would play short if Diaz gets hurt?
I am guessing Neil Walker or Andy LaRoche. It’s absolutely crazy for a professional team to take such risks with the shortstop position. It’s obviously a weakness in the system. Cedeno was the only other option. He ran the bases the other night, but he can’t swing the bat?
Something is wrong. Cedeno practically plays ball all year. He is a machine. We think he might be wearing down a little. Some rest would certainly not hurt. Cedeno is not going to get on fire and lead this team to victories night after night.
Shut him down. He needs fixed.
