At some point, it becomes impossible to determine what is happening.  Just read this.  The Pirates Kyle Stark has fired AA Manager Matt Walbeck. “I just spoke with Kyle, and basically he felt I wasn’t a good fit for what I wanted to accomplish.” —- Matt Walbeck

John Daly was back in Pennsylvania today crushing 400 yard drives.  Twice.  Hell, maybe five times, we didn’t pull out a measuring tape.  The bottom line is 

` Garrett Jones came through again for the Pirates last night.  Jones hit a two-run homer, an RBI single, and a double in the eighth that sparked the Bucs,  Brian Burres pitched well again and the Pirates were victorious over the Cardinals  7-2. 

Today was Fan Appreciation Day at PNC Park as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Houston Astros to take the series.  It was an impressive homestand for the Young Bucs.  The Pirates led by Pittsburgh’s own Neil Walker put on a great show for the fans just as we thought they would.  Most of the promotion looked great, if you’re into that kinda shit.  We’re not.  One thing really turned our stomach.  Obviously someone forgot to tell the Bucs marketing team that Pittsburgh is the home of American steel.  Where is the company from that owns Mini Cooper?  Holy jumping jingle balls, let me get [...]

Zach Duke has had his redemption. The Pirates much maligned starter went six innngs and while he was far from sharp, he was effective and located when necessary. But the real story of the past month has been the young Pirates talent.  They have offically gone wild.  Its undeniable.  And it’s exciting to see. The Pirates offense continues to remain Indian Summer hot and last night they lead the Bucs to victory. ` It’s the final Pittsburgh Pirates homestand of the 2010 season.  It’s been a long time since opening day and the heroics of Garrett Jones.  On that beautiful day, it felt like the 2010 Pirates season could be a shocker.  And was it ever. 

The Pittsburgh Pirates have sucked for a long time. Never this much.  This would make Jenna Jamison blush.
