When a player is having a rookie season like Neil Walker of the Pittsburgh Pirates, some buzz must be created.
A nickname. A great catch phrase if you will. The Pittsburgh Kid is overused. Another favorite that has been out there forever is Pine-Richland’s Neil Walker. Those aren’t real magical. No offense, Pittsburgh, no offense Pine Richland.
When used to refer to Walker, those are cliche. We have been trying to think of something better. Neil Walker The Baseball Shocker is sorta ok, but we wanted something better. It’s not an easy task. The thing we kept coming back to were the results from the “it rhymes with” website. Here is what we found….
Words and phrases that rhyme with walker: (6 results)
2 syllables:
auker, chalker, hawker, stalker, talker3 syllables:
sweet talker
Now comes my question. Can this be used as Neil Walkers nickname, or catch phrase if you will? Is it wrong to be a baseball stalker? Just throwing it out there.

I dunno, "Baseball Stalker" seems pretty creepy.
Personally I've been going with just "Hometown." It's not quite as obvious as "The Pittsburgh Kid" and it's a fun word to yell out when he gets a hit.
