Real Deal? Two More Shutout Innings For Pribanic in AFL
Aaron Pribanic was acquired in the Jack Wilson/Ian Snell deal. Pribanic was a third round pick in the 2008 draft out of Nebraska. Pribanic was a stud for Bradenton including a stretch of games when he allowed two earned runs or fewer in nine of 10 starts. Read about Pribanic’s Florida State League postseason debut here. Pribanic has continued to pitch well for the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League. In his second appearance, the 6’4″ Pribanic pitched

Ben Haters: Whats Up With The Gold Bandanas?
Apparently bandanas were needed by the small group that protested the return of Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. I am not sure why? Perhaps it was because their homemade signs were filled with hatred and slander. Nevertheless, I found it strange that the group would hide behind bandanas. Anyway, the guy with the homemade mowhawk in the Post Gazettes picture is still sweet. There is no way he is pulling his hood up! (Thanks to Nick Ciaccia for grabbing the banner shot)
The Littlefield Method
The Pittsburgh Pirates blogs always have quality content. Last week, we got a note from our partners at Pittsburgh Sports Tavern. It was too painful fun to pass up…. One quick side note: Did you know that John Van Benschoten currently holds the all-time major league record for highest career ERA with at least 75 innings pitched? ~~~~~ Hey Tom, I had an idea going through my head based on a thread over at The Pittsburgh Sports Tavern. I basically put up a thread about Tim Williams over at Pirates Prospects releasing a 2011 Pittsburgh Pirates Prospects book by the [...]
Andrew Lambo had two more hits, scored two more runs and his Solar Sox chalked up another victory in Arizona Fall League action. The Sox had a big fourth inning to lead them to a 10-1 win over Peoria. Justin Wilson was the starter and Pirates catching prospect Tony Sanchez was behind the plate. Wilson threw two scoreless innings for the Sox giving up two hits, a walk and whiffed three batters. Wilson threw 40 pitches, but didn’t pitch long enough to grab a victory, that went to Kyle Smit of the Cubs. Sanchez didn’t have a hit in three at-bats, but did earn [...]

Andrew Lambo hit his first homerun, a two-run shot, in Arizona Fall League action last night. Lambo has now
Did Eric Wedge Really Have A Choice?
Nothing about former Cleveland Indians manager Eric Wedge inspired us. Obviously, the Seattle Mariners felt differently. 64 And Counting Blogger Vince Grzegorek felt differently too.
Sanchez And Mercer Collect Three Hits in AFL Action
Pirates catching prospect Tony Sanchez took three games to show he is back from his broken jaw. In just his third game since June 22, Sanchez collected three hits, scored two runs and drove in a run as his Mesa Solar Sox got another victory. It’s exciting to think that if Sanchez can continue to show his ability with the bat,
` The Atlanta Braves made Carlos Tosca their bench coach a couple of days ago. Today, he was in Pittsburgh as the 7th interview candidate for the job of Pirates manager. He would seem to be a longshot, but we dug up a few things on Tosca that at least make him interesting. I’m curious with all of his time (he coached an 18-year old Don Mattingly) and connections in the game if Tosca could field an interesting team of coaches?
