Was Lambo Passed Over For Rising Stars Game? Again…

Maybe it was just an oversight. Perhaps we are biased. It just might be that Andrew Lambo
has been here before….done this before. He’s old news. But actually he’s not. Lambo is showing some extra base power, some big pop in his bat again, and although some have reported he has a bad boy attitude, why the snub? Again?
Tony Sanchez is highly respected and has earned a spot in the Arizona Fall League Rising Stars game tomorrow night. However, Sanchez could use a boost before those cameras get rolling on MLB network. Sanchez is 0-for-his last 9 and one-for-his last 16 with seven strikeouts.
Cause for alarm? No, we don’t think so. Sanchez had seven hits in his first 22 at-bats.
But some concerning things have happened recently, Sanchez has struckout seven times in his recent one-for-his 16 skid. Gulp. Of course his numbers have fallen significantly, in fact his OPS is down to .625.
Did you know that like Sanchez, Andrew Lambo was also born in 1988? In fact, Sanchez is older being a May baby Taurus while Lambo wasn’t born until August.
Andrew Lambo hit his seventh double of the AFL season and sports a .981 OPS in his past ten games. Lambo has also hit three bombs with two of them coming off lefties.
Heading into today, Lambo was third in the AFL in runs scored with 16, third in RBI with 15 and third in total bases with 37. He is doing work.
Lambo has been hot recently for the Solar Sox and has reached base safely in eight of his past ten games.
So why the snub?
It’s an old habit…. if Lambo is such an ass as some of the media have stated, it certainly doesn’t show when asked about the Rising Stars snub when he was in Dodgers blue.
