Juicy Fruit Saved The Pirates Season For This Fan

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

We confused many of our visitors with our list of things we were thankful for as Pirates fans.  Let us clear up the biggest one for you.  The Pittsburgh Pirates were blown out a ton in 2010.  At one point, it was nearly forty percent.  We refuse to determine the exact percentage, but we distinctly remember the pain.  After each of these blowout losses, we would try to listen to

Pirates Takeover Christmas: Charlie Brown Edition

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

We saw how the WWE tookover Christmas with some snappy Photoshop work in their holiday mag. It inspired us to adapt some of the movies you will see on your flatscreen this holiday season to Pirates baseball moments that deliver the same meaning, but with more heartbreak passion.   A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS The Story:  A guy shows the true meaning of Christmas to his materialistic friends. The Message:  Humilty often brings about true happiness. Pittsburgh Pirates Equivalent:  Neil Walker battled through injuries in his minor league career unable to ever

Pittsburgh Pirates Takeover Christmas

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

We saw how the WWE tookover Christmas with some snappy Photoshop work in their holiday mag. It inspired us to adapt some of the movies you will see on your big flatscreen this holiday season to Pirates baseball moments that deliver the same meaning, but with more heartbreak passion.   The Story:  Kid really wants a BB gun, so he bitches about it until Santa comes through for him. The Meaning:  Sometimes everybody really does get what they want. Pittsburgh Pirates Equivalant:  Manager John Russell is fired.  Pirates fans didn’t specifically want Clint Hurdle, most wanted us to be able to photoshop Andy Van Slyke into [...]

Pirates Cut Million Dollar Arm

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Indian ahem…flamethrower Dinesh Patel has been told by the Pittsburgh Pirates to hit the highway according to a Baseball America report.   Happy Thanksgiving Thursday fella.  (Hat tip to @SDCain) Patel had only thrown a javelin prior until he participated in the reality show ’Million Dollar Arm.’  On the show, Dinesh took second place.  In a better display of the sheer volume of participants– Dinesh was better than 36,998 other pitchers–topping out at 87 miles per hour.  Only Rinku Singh threw harder

Watch Quincy Latimore On ABL Bite Website This Thanksgiving Holiday

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

` When we saw the ABL Bite website gave RumBunter some love, we knew these guys get it. So let’s return the favor.  Tired of watching football this holiday? The Bite got something for you.  Grab your laptop and take a break from the family to catch a glimpse of a very talented player moving through the Pirates system. Quincy Latimore is enjoying his time down under and the Bite are playing some winning baseball too. It doesn’t seem possible that over the Thanksgiving holiday, Pirates fans could watch baseball.  Thanks to the fine folks at the Adelaide Bite website, we can [...]

Duke Traded: Our Five Favorite Duke Drubbings From 2010

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

Zach Duke was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks for the infamous player to be named later.  Some believe Duke will be hard to replace on the Pirates staff.  We don’t.  The left hander is just too hittable.  As a Pirates fan, we have come to appreciate a Pirates pitcher imploding.  A Pirates pitcher that once seemed like a quality pitcher becoming a BP arm is usual practice.  A once talented arm become a player to be named later.  So pardon the headline, it’s just a tad bit enjoyable today to see a player that caused so much frustration be gone.

Pittsburgh Pirates Fans Have 15 Things To Be Thankful For This Year

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Each year at RumBunter we take about ninety seconds to think about what it is that we were most thankful for this past season.  It’s becoming a tradition of sorts.  Like turkey and drinking with friends this weekend.  Happy Thanksgiving. We were thankful last year too… Clipped from: rumbunter.com (share this clip)

Neil Walker Interview: Silencing The Critics

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

RumBunter:  What do you think the Pirates will do in 2011? Walker:  There is so much to prove in 2011, we are going to have a new manager, most likely a bunch of new players, and high hopes on top of that. I think its important to take it one day at a time and continue to work to do all the little things right. I think if we can go out and play as a team
