Pirates Caravan: Whatever It Takes

facebooktwitterreddit

The 2011 Pirates Caravan is in full swing and as popular as ever.

Throngs

of people waiting in line to chat with you for twenty seconds, local reporters buzzing around shoving mics in your face to get a story, familes all over the place, hot girls dressed up in new MLB threads.

Ahh…the joys of a big league ball player.  Comfort, luxury, wait…

What. The. Hell….. happened to the bus?

Maybe since Neil Walker, James McDonald, Jeff Karstens, and Ray Searage are all new to the Pirates Caravan, perhaps they didn’t realize what the whip looked like last year?  Heh, Mr. Nutting, your secret is safe with us.

Pics:

The Pittsburgh Pirates can still fill it up. Some had concerns about the Steelers victory impacting the crowd today. It didn’t happen. It was packed. We arrived at 5:45 and the line was five storefronts strong stretching down to the Lids store where some fans were picking up Pirates hats for autographs.

We got to speak with Neil Walker for a few minutes and let’s just say this…he is more than ready to go.

The Sports Collectors Universe guys Bryce and Dave were out of James McDonald cards, Jeff Karstens, and Neil Walker was getting thin when we took off.

The Caravan is on its way in your direction, don’t miss it.
