Does not bode well for the little man from Jacksonville, FL. Guys who need to step the F up Atkins: I can only hope that the need for "extra" attention made by Hurdle the other day (which doesn't seem to be paying off) convinces Hurdle & NH that he's not worth keeping around. I REALLY don't want to see him make the 25-man over Bowker: He's on the 40-man, and he's out of Options. Unfortunately, with the need for the RF platoon, and the distinct possibility that we may carry three catchers (EGAD!), and he's LHB and we have GFJ and Überbay and Pedro as LH 1B/3B/OF options, and the fact that this is a horribly run-on sentence, leaves Bowker in the lurch. I'd REALLY like to see him on the 25-man, as I don't think he'd make it through waivers. Marte: I don't think there's a hope in Hades that he makes it, despite the fact that he's hitting really well (and no, I don't put much stock in ST numbers, but if it builds some momentum, that can only be a good thing.)... He'd have to be added to the 40/25-man - not that there aren't SEVERAL who could easily be trimmed/lopped off (Hello, Chris Leroux!)
