Ross Ohlendorf left tonights game in the third inning.

Pirates Ross Ohlendorf Exits With Shoulder Injury

Pittsburgh Pirates starter Ross Ohlendorf left tonight’s start because of discomfort in his right shoulder.  Ohlendorf had thrown 52 pitches with 31 of them being strikes.

The big damage came in the first inning.  Rockies last minute addition to the lineup, Jason Giambi crushed a bomb ten rows deep into the right field bleachers.  Ohlendorf had thrown 31 pitches in the inning including a lead off walk and a single on a slow roller that Ronny Cedeno couldn’t get to fast enough to convert into an out as there was a close play at first.

Ohlendorf threw 2.2 innings and no further information was available when we made this post.  The game is tied 3-3 in the seventh with Mike Crotta on the mound.
