Rudy Owens just keeps on getting it done. In AAA action yesterday, Owens pitched five no-hit innings as the Indianapolis Indians defeated the Louisville Bats 7-1. The southpaw allowed just three hits in the game before Tony Watson relieved him in the sixth.
Owens improved his ERA to 1.35 on the season by going 6.1 innings, walking two and striking out three. He allowed one earned run and just one extra base hit, a double.
For the Tribe, Alex Presley and Andrew Lambo each had two hits. Josh Harrison, who is hitting .321, tripled, walked, drove in a run, and scored twice.
Lambo doubled off Johnny Cueto, who surrendered one run in 3.1 innings of work. It was enough to saddle Cueto with the loss.
