In that situation, we need a little more firm throw (from Walker), that was it, that was a very aggressive play, a very gutsy play, and Lyle was actually kind of feeling (Ford) might try it. If we had two firm throws on target, things might have been different.   Clint Hurdle on ROOT Sports last night.

Video: Strike Throwin’ Porky Chedwick Is OK After Slippery First Pitch At PNC Park

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

Most people in Pittsburgh know 93-year old Porky Chedwick by many nicknames.  Some call him The Daddio of the Radio, The Platter Pushin Papa, The Bossman, Pork The Tork, and some others.  We will simply call him a badass from now on after watching this video.   He fires the first pitch and then falls backward to the turf.  Without too much help, he peels himself off the wet grass, throws a fist in the air and we guess he asked if the pitch was a strike.  I bet the batter would have chased it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tukyeGy9Cw8
