Pirates Score, You Score Weekend In Milwaukee

Milwaukee would be such a cool place

if the Brewers didn’t play there. The Brew Crew consistently puts a ball gag in the mouths of the Bucs and currently holds a six straight games domination of the Bucs.

James McDonald is on the bump for the Bucs and has won two of his past three starts with a sparkling ERA of Uno. He opposes Yovani Gallardo who hasn’t been stellar despite flirting with a no-hitter in his last start. Gallardo has been a big part of the recent whippings allowing the Bucs to score less than two runs in his past ten starts.

It’s a big series for both ballclubs. The Pirates are ahead in the standings and if they wish to stay there, the dreaded curse must be broken. The Brewers could be without Ryan Braun and the team hasn’t been their usual mashing selves this season. Only Braun and Jonathan Lucrory are over .300.

Pirates pitchers are being hurt by the long ball recently. The Brewers are known for hitting their fair share against the Pirates. But looking at the Brewers stats a little bit deeper, ten of their past eleven bombs have been solo shots.

With some offensive support this series could be a lot of fun, without it, the Bucs seemed doomed.  Especially when it was announced it was a you score as Bucs score weekend.  When was the last time this worked?  We seem to remember being ridiculed.  But anyway no pressure Pirates, no pressure at all….why this is done is beyond me.  Maybe try it against the Nationals for God sake.

But back to bigger picture items, damn the Brewers suck.
