The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Alex Dickerson an outfielder and a first baseman from Indiana University. He started when he was a Freshman and was the teams cleanup hitter belting 14 bombs. He had 15 doubles and was a major run producer for the team. He was also the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

He finished 2010 with 24 bombs and drove in 75 runs while trading in Freshman of the Year for Big Ten Player of the Year.

Here is a video from last April of Dickerson facing Alex Wimmers of the Twins in which he flies out to the catcher:

From the IU site, Dickerson’s extensive accomplishments are featured:

Here is a video of Dickerson by DiamondScapeBaseball on Aug 13, 2010.

Dickerson is shown batting during the Team USA Collegiate National Team Trials in July, 2010. You will see some swings and misses, some patience and around the 3:00 minute mark a near decapitation of the opposing pitcher.

The slow motion at 3:10 is sweet.

But maybe one of my favorites of Dickerson is this one against Anthony Ranaudo of LSU:
