The State College Spikes

have made a change at manager after West Virginia pitching coach Jeff Johnson took a leave of absence for family matters causing some maneuvering by the Pirates.  So Dave Turgeon will head to the Power and Pirates outfielder and 38-year old baserunning coordinator Kimera Bartee will takeover as skipper for the Spikes.

A release from the club states that Turgeon will be the interim pitching coach for the remainder of the 2011 season.  There wasn’t a move announced about a replacement for Bartee’s position.
