The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded for Boston Red Sox AAA Pawtucket catcher Mike McKenry.  The Bucs will send a player to be named later or cash considerations to the Sox.  Wyatt Toregas has been sent back down to make room for McKenry on the Pirates roster.

McKenry is 26 years old and had been acquired by Boston from Colorado (who was their seventh round draft pick) this March.   McKenry hit .274 (26 for-95) with five doubles, three bombs, and walked 14 times in 29 games.
