Pirates Send Andrew Lambo Back to AA

by Pittsburgh Pirates

Up in smoke

The Pittsburgh Pirates have seen enough.  It’s been well documented that Andrew Lambo has been outhit by Alex Presley and John Bowker in Indianapolis this season.

Now the Bucs have made a move to get Lambo and his potential turned in the right direction as he will be headed back to Altoona after 185 at-bats at AAA.  Lambo put together a .184/.257/.292 line while Presley and Bowker hit the hell out of the ball.

It appears not to matter much right now just how many hits Presley and Bowker get each night.  They are left to tap their foot as they wait on the Pirates to make a call for them to rejoin the big league club.

Meanwhile, the Bucs need to get Lambo fixed.  Sure he’s young.  But the Pirates are approaching one year with Lambo and he has been anything but impressive, a couple weeks of AFL ball aside.

It’s disappointing.  And it kills cool Photoshop ideas.

Disappointing for Lambo, perhaps. But it simnply shows that it is increasingly difficult for just anyone to man the USS Bucco. Steady as she goes for the Mothership, Mate. There is gold to be found, and soon to be harvested over that horizon.
