Joel Hanrahan Redefines Dominant

.

Watching Joel Hanrahan dominate is so damn much fun. The Pittsburgh Pirates closer has allowed four hits in June, three against the Phillies and one on Saturday night against the Red Sox. That equates to an average of .103 for the bad guys against the big right hander from Iowa.

Hanrahan has thrown 168 pitches with 110 going for strikes this month.   Hanrahan has a 0.60 WHIP which sparkles for the power reliever that drew comparisions to Goose Gossage by skipper Clint Hurdle earlier this season.

It’s a dominance that we have never seen from a Pirates pitcher.  As the Bucs travel north to play three games in Toronto with their best pitchers on the mound in Kevin Correia, Paul Maholm and Jeff Karstens, isn’t it nice to know that if the Bucs can get to Hanrahan, the game is over.
