Another Year, Another Pirates Prospect Wins All-Star Game MVP

Another All-Star game, another Pirates player named MVP

Last year at the AA All-Star game, Chase d’Arnaud took home the MVP. This year it was Brock Holt’s turn.

Holt belted a two-run bomb to put the Western Division All-Stars up 2-0 early. Holt’s team would cruise late in an eventual 8-3 victory for the West.

Altoona Curve pitcher Aaron Pribanic got the win.  Jeff Locke threw a scoreless fourth inning.  Starling Marte went 0-for-2.

You might recall, d’Arnaud hit a grand slam in last year’s game. He’s having a strong showing this year for the Bucs. Perhaps next year, Holt will do the same.

Either way, it’s nice to see young, talented Pirates players making an impact on their respective big stage.
