		<description>Not sold on Steve Pearce. He has been inconsistent, at best, at the Major League level. Not sure that adding a 28 year old bench/utility player is the answer the Pirates are looking for at the corner positions.

 

He has a full season of games under his belt (163 to be exact) and has &quot;wowed&quot; us with these numbers:

 

.246/.316/.392 for a .708 OPS

9 HR 52 RBI

and here&#039;s the big problem in my eyes

42BB and 94K

 

In comparison Lyle Overbay projects to:

.240/.310/.365 for a .676 OPS

12 HR 61 RBI

54BB and 115K

 

Numbers would suggest that Steve Pearce and Lyle Overbay are practically the same player. Is that really an upgrade?</description>
