Pittsburgh Pirates Latest MLB Team to Pull Out of Venezuela

A report today says that the Pittsburgh Pirates will not be participating in the Venezuelan Summer League next season.  If true, the league reminds us of a fast pitch softball league.  With the Bucs pulling out, the league now would have only five teams.

To compensate, the Bucs will have two teams in the DSL which will operate from the Dominican Academy which is the facility Pirates owner Bob Nutting built a few years ago.
