July 16, 2011. That means thirteen years, 364 days since being in first place. For me, realistic expectations were for the Buccos to sniff first place this year. Accomplished. The Pirates are still a 4- cylinder engine, that simply cannot run the entire race with the bigger 6's and 8's. However, we have a solid block and a good mechanic who had the motor fine tuned until the inevitable break downs. We need one or two dominating pitchers to enhance a very capable staff, and one or 2 heavy bats to increase the chances of a win in games when the pitching is a little sour or the opposition happens to score alot of runs that day. We are very close.

Go Bucs!
