Pittsburgh Pirates Robbie Grossman Leads Arizona Fall League in Hits

Pirates outfield prospect Robbie Grossman has an OPS of 1.030 after eleven games in the Arizona Fall League

Robbie Grossman is proving the Arizona Fall League isn’t too much for him. We checked out the leaders thinking that Grossman had a shot at being near the top.

We were surprised to see he is currently actually the top dog in two offensive categories. Grossman leads the AFL in hits and total bases. Grossman has a triple slash of .354/.426/.604.

Three homeruns bump his slugging numbers nicely, his leadoff homer Saturday was a bomb to centerfielder off the Rays Shane Dyer.

Grossman is continuing to show plate discipline which was what we all needed to see.  He has walked six times and struckout five in his 48 at-bats.  The performance is impressive. Grossman is flashing rather gaudy numbers for a player many scouts have expressed some doubts about, let’s trust he can keep it up.
