Pirates Robbie Grossman Can’t Be Stopped

The Pittsburgh Pirates have a serious situation in Arizona.

Robbie Grossman can’t be stopped.  Another day in the Arizona Fall League, another outstanding performance at the plate for Mesa Solar Sox outfielder Robbie Grossman.   It’s becoming a habit.

Grossman ripped his fifth double in the second inning off Mets right hander Collin McHugh.

Grossman’s single in the fourth inning drove in two runs putting Mesa ahead 5-4. Pirates teammate Brock Holt walked (0-for-3) to lead off the inning. Holt and Xavier Avery scored on the Grossman single and it chased McHugh from the game.

In the sixth inning, Grossman walked, stole his fourth base of the season and then scored on a wild pitch by Forrest Snow.

Grossman is now hitting .381 for the Solar Sox.  His numbers are in the top ten of most offensive categories.  New Blood Grossman has now set the benchmark for performance in the AFL after eclipising the Bucs most talented offensive player in Andrew McCutchen.  Future Buccos will chase these big numbers Grossman has put up when they head to Arizona.

But he’s not even done, and he shows no signs of stopping.
