Report: Pittsburgh Pirates Out On Yoenis Cespedes, Chicago Cubs In

Clipped from the Cespedes 'Showcase Video' below.

Last week there was a report that the Pittsburgh Pirates were interested in Yoenis Cespedes, the five-tool, 26-year old outfielder who has been a star for the Cuban National Team.

Then on our podcast, Neal Huntington softened the interest level.  Listen to the podcast with the Pirates GM here:

Now Cocktailsfor2 has found a report from soxdetox where Huntington said the Bucs were out on Yoenis Cespedes, that the Rod Barajas signing was about veteran presence, and the weight of the world will be on Pedro Alvarez (we jest).

The Cuban stud outfielder will be working out for Theo Epsteins’ Chicago Cubs shortly.  Great.
