Clint Barmes Highlight Videos

Another day, another shortstop is rumored to be coming to Pittsburgh.  According to several reports, the Pittsburgh Pirates are close to signing a two-year deal with shortstop Clint Barmes.  We will wait patiently before we dive too deep into looking at Barmes, but we think he might be the safest pick on the list of available shortstops.

Yeah, the list sucks that bad.

The memory we have of Barmes is as a solid glove man. Oh yeah, it appears that our memory is confirmed after watching several of his highlight videos posted below.  Watch him gun Andrew McCutchen in the first video:

Barmes is a dead pull hitter who strikes out often.  Here is a video of his solo blast to the bleachers in left field at PNC Park.

Barmes seriously struggles to get on base, which we have come to expect from a Pittsburgh Pirate shortstop. Bill James has Barmes projected for 13 homers in 2012 which is interesting, but that’s all we really see for the defense-first shortstop.
