Neal Huntington Interview at PirateFest

Once again, the Pittsburgh Pirates were a gracious host at PirateFest. We can’t thank them enough for taking the time to arrange all of the details surrounding last night.

The final interview was with Pittsburgh Pirates GM Neal Huntington who talked about the Rule 5 draft selection process.

Huntington sells Nunez to the panel.

Huntington states that the Rule 5 draft is not something he likes. Kevin asks about Trevor Cahill being the right match for the Bucs. He mentions that the Pirates are looking for ways to make the team better, not necessarily looking for more starting pitching.

The Pirates did not submit a bid on Yu Darvish, but they are interested in Chen.

The door is open for Garrett Jones to grab the first base job. Huntington also talks about other options the Pirates have including Casey McGehee, Jake Fox, Nick Evans, and Matt Hague.

The 25th man on the roster.
