Is This Really the First Draft of Ryan Braun’s MVP Speech?

Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun

gazed intently at his MVP trophy and apparently said the following last night at the New York chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America .

“I’ve chosen in life to view every challenge I’ve ever faced as an opportunity and this will be no different. I’ve always believed that a person’s character is revealed through the way they deal with those moments of adversity.

“I’ve always loved and had so much respect for the game of baseball. Everything I’ve done in my career has been done with that in mind. I want to take a moment to thank the players association for supporting me throughout my career and especially for supporting me through the last couple months.”

A close friend of Rumbunter works at the Hilton in New York where Braun and his parents were apparently staying.  She sent this over to us this morning. It appears to be a first draft of his MVP speech:

Thankfully,  someone did some editing.

Braun’s verdict on a 50-game suspension will be known in the next 25 days.  According to the Milwaukee Sentinel,  no front-office member had spoken to Braun since the report of the positive test until a private reception before the banquet.

Braun is still scheduled to attend the Brewers’ “On Deck” fan fest a week from today in Milwaukee.

Be careful, Brewers fans.  Be very careful  – that shit is contagious.
