Pirates Garrett Jones Remains Loose at Spring Training

Garrett Jones looked right at home in the cage today.

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Garrett Jones is supposedly locked in a battle for playing time.  But it’s not easy to say at this moment who will platoon with him.

Some people seem to think he will share time with right-handed hitter Casey McGehee.  Others think it might be the six-foot tall Jake Fox or maybe Nick Evans — both of whom are non-roster invitees at the Pirates camp.

So, one would think that the man known as GFJ (or Manchild) might be pressing a bit, and maybe letting all these players competing for his playing time to get to him.

Nah, that’s not happening.  Just look at Garrett Freaking Jones….

Did you see it? Yeah, that’s a bottle of water in his pants pocket. It remained in his pocket as Jones took live batting practice off Jeff Karstens and Daniel Moskos.
