The Pittsburgh Pirates struggled last season due to injuries. When the Pirates started replacing starters the team began to struggle. When the team began to replace the replacements, the team collapsed.
So when news came out this week that Neil Walker was scratched and “didn’t want to do too much too early,” we immediately knew it wasn’t good. But Walker took batting practice today and has been cleared to play reports Kristy Robinson from Pirates Prospects.
Walker is a replacement and we would think it’s doubtful he plays today, but we could see him in action tomorrow. It also is telling that Walker must really be feeling completely better, as the team is traveling to Port Charlotte, to play the Rays.
