Charlie Morton Gets First Spring Start as Pirates Take on Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies and the Pittsburgh Pirates are in action today. Charlie Morton will face Vance Worley.

Its really exciting to see Morton getting such action in the early going of spring training. Fingers crossed for Morton today.
The Bucs are taking on the  Netherlands this afternoon in St. Petersburg as well.   The game begins at 105pm as part of the International Baseball Tournament at Al Lang FieldThe Zombie Jeff Karstens will be on the bump for the Pirates in that game with his catcher Mike McKenry.   Daniel McCutchen, Rudy Owens and Jeff Locke are on the schedule to throw today.


Kyle McPherson was scratched today with dead arm.  He is day to day.

Brad Lincoln was also a scratch to pitch today.  He had tightness in his calf.
