The Pittsburgh Pirates send Brad Lincoln

to the mound today against J.A. Happ and the Astros.  Someday Lincoln is going to figure it out right?  Right?

Speaking of figuring things out how about Josh Harrison?  The infielder gets the start at third today.  He is hitting his way into a ticket north to Pittsburgh.

In 15 games, the right handed hitting Harrison has 13 hits in 25 at bats.  If you watched the game yesterday, he crushed his seventh double of the spring.  He muscled a pitch off the plate and hustled out the double-it wasn’t a cheapie.

He has spread the love around, hitting .556 off lefties and .500 against right handers.  Four of his doubles have come off left handed pitchers.   Walks have never been a staple for Harrison, but he does have two.  He also has struckout three times.

He hasn’t impressed me at all playing shortstop.  But he only needs to play the position in an emergency situation the first month.  So his bat could easily land him a spot on the club.
