Pirates Look for Sweep of Nationals, Dude, Where’s My Broom?
By Tom Smith
ZOLTAN! The Pittsburgh Pirates go for the sweep tonight against Stephen Strasburg and the Washington Nationals.
The last time I saw Strasburg face the Pirates it was Strasmas. Ahh, the memories of June 8, 2010.
I would go back and dig up those posts, but that was some seriously bad baseball that night. What a mess. By the way, after Delwyn Young took Strasburg deep that night was he abducted by aliens?
The Nats big right hander will be trying to stop some bad mojo that is happening to his team. Natitude has dropped seven straight road games.
But the Nationals have lost just once when he pitches this season. The righty is 2-0 with a 1.66 ERA and has pitched 38 innings posting 38 strikeouts.
We look for the Bucs to put up a few on Strasburg tonight as he looked quite normal against the Phillies his last time out, but the challenge is the Bucs will pitch Kevin Correia. They could need quite a few more. In his last two starts, the Bucs righty has a 5.56 ERA.
The Buccos haven’t swept a series since they put it on the Arizona Diamondback back in late September 2010.
Dude, it’s going to be awesome……
