Jeff Karstens seemed on his way back to the Pittsburgh Pirates rotation. The Buccos right hander was making what was thought to be his last rehab start at AAA Indianapolis on Thursday.
Karstens took him self out of the game and got an MRI today after what was thought to be tightness in his groin. After the MRI, the Bucs have said that Karstens injured his hip flexor.
We presume that the zombie would have joined the Bucs in Baltimore next week. On April 18, Karstys was put on the DL with right-shoulder inflammation. It’s unknown how serious this injury is right now, after he tries throwing again, the fans should have a better idea of the Zombie’s return.
We certainly trust that this doesn’t mean Brad Lincoln will make another start.
That would be a bad idea right now.
