The Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Rays square off this afternoon in the lid lifter of the Grapefruit League season. Jeff Locke will get the start for the Buccos.

The southpaw is in a wide open competition for a spot in the Pirates rotation. He will face a Rays scheduled lineup that looks like this:

Sam Fuld is in center field, Yunel Escobar at short, Kelly Johnson at  2B, Jose Molina is the catcher and will bat cleanup, Luke Scott will be the Rays DH, James Loney is at first and bats sixth,  Wil Myers makes his debut in right field, Chris Gimenez will be at the hot corner and Rich Thompson will bat ninth and play left field.

On the bump for the Rays is pitcher Roberto Hernandez.

Hernandez will face (in case your sweet graphic isn’t showing up) the following lineup from Clint Hurdle’s Buccos.  Starling Marte leads off in left, Alex Presley will bat second, Travis Snider will play right field and bat third, Garrett Jones will hit in the cleanup spot,  Pedro will bat fifth, the DH will be Brad Hawpe, who had the only hit off Gerrit Cole yesterday, in the eighth spot is Michael McKenry and batting ninth is Chase d’Arnaud.

Pass the sunscreen, we are going to get baked today.
