Pirates A.J. Burnett Tweets His All-Star Game Starting Pitcher Vote

As the Major League Baseball All-Star Game approaches, the Pittsburgh Pirates, who have the second best record in the game, are making people take notice with their play on the field.  The team has used a bevy of pitchers to stack 46 wins.

Off the field, team leader A.J. Burnett is ensuring some All-Star attention is paid to his teammate Jeff Locke.

Heading into tonights start against the Seattle Mariners, Locke has been charged with three earned runs or less in each of his past 12 starts and in 13 of his 15 starts this season.  The lefty has given up seven total hits in his past three starts and is working on a 14 scoreless inning streak over his past two outings.  The southpaw is the National League ERA leader, but has even bested that 2.01 mark when on the road this year by posting a sparkling 1.64 road ERA.

We noticed all of it go down when the Major League Baseball twitter account sent out this teaser tweet about who will start in the All-Star Game.

Ahh….the mention of Matt Harvey and Clayton Kershaw didn’t go over well with Burnett.  The Bucs leader who was having a stellar season of his own prior to his recent injury tweeted this in response.

Vote sent big guy.  Vote sent.
