Jason Aldean Concert at PNC Park on July 26

Shine up your cowboy boots Buccos fans, the redneck Romeo, Jason Aldean is coming to Pittsburgh on July 26 for a concert at PNC Park.  It’s monster news for Bob Nutting and the Pittsburgh Pirates.  In fact it’s the biggest news of the offseason.  The Bucs tweeted the announcement and Twitter just about broke.  I’m pretty happy for the Pirates music department.

If you listen to the Rumbunter Podcast you will remember Aldean’s name.  Pirates bench coach Jeff Banister and GM Neal Huntington are both big fans.  Banister and Huntington answered the always music savvy Cocktails question about what music the Buccos big boys listen to, and Aldean was the answer– before Cocktails could even finish the question.

We don’t get it, but it’s safe to say, country music fans are going to lose their minds at PNC Park on July 26.  And don’t be surprised to see a lot of the Bucs rocking their cowboy boots as Aldean belts out hits like My Kinda Party!

"If you wanna drink,Go baby just do your thing.Give up your keys.Hell why drive when you can stay with me?And then after while we’ll sneak away from the bonfire.Walk by the moonlight and down to the riverside.Gotcha sippin’ on some moonshine.Baby if you’re in the mood you can settle for a one night rodeo,You can be my tan-legged Juliet,I’ll be your Redneck Romeo."

There is also this about Aldean that I didn’t know.  You might know that Aldean is part owner of Buck Commander along with former Pirates smooth swinging Adam LaRoche.  Former Brave Chipper Jones,  Willie Robertson of Duck Dynasty, fellow country singer Luke Bryan and other big leaguers are also owners of the company.

After this quiet offseason, I think some Pirates fans might do as Aldean mentions in Night Train.  Something about the moon, something about a billion stars and maybe something about a fifth of Comfort.

Go. Bucs.
