The Minnesota Twins will arrive in Bradenton and play the Grapefruit League leading Pittsburgh Pirates in ‘A’ and  ‘B’ games.  The early start at Pirate City will showcase Gerrit Cole while the game at McKechnie has Wandy Rodriguez in his second start with a talented supporting cast of arms to follow the left-hander.

The Twins have $31 million dollars wrapped up in these pitchers for the 2014 season:  Ricky Nolasco, Phil Hughes, former Pirates All-Star Kevin Correia andMike Pelfrey.

Cole was bumped due to Mother Nature and will start the JV game for the Pirates squad.  Southpaw Justin Wilson, Bryan Morris, lefty Andy Oliver, Casey Sadler and Stolmy Pimentel will work after Cole 45.

Right-hander Kevin Correia, perhaps the greatest free agent signing prior to Russell Martin arriving in the ‘Burgh,  will be the Twins starter in the game.

Southpaw Rodriguez will get the start.  Jameson Taillon is scheduled to follow Rodriguez, closer Jason Grilli will get his first game action, Jeanmar Gomez and Jared Hughes are also on the schedule.

Vance Worley will get the start for the Twins.  The game will be live on MLB  Gameday Audio.

Like the Pirates game against Toronto yesterday, the Twins were rained out yesterday and Ricky Nolasco threw a simulated game rather than head to take on the Bucs today, hence former Philadelphia Phillies right hander will get the start.
