The Pittsburgh Pirates will host the Los Angeles Dodgers for three games at PNC Park this week. The Pittsburgh Pirates schedule also pens the final series between the two teams during the regular season this week. The season average on the secondary market for Pirates tickets is $63.65 but each game will see an average price well below that number. In fact, the Pirates will see their cheapest secondary ticket prices of the season at home this week against the Dodgers. The series as a whole will be 67% below the season average.

7/21 – Hyun-Jin Ryu vs Edinson Volquez | Avg. Price: $17 | Get-in Price: $2

The series begins Monday Night when the Pirates give Edinson Volquez the nod against Dodgers southpaw Hyun-Jin Ryu. The average secondary price for Monday Pirates vs Dodgers tickets is $17, the cheapest of the series at 73.29% below season average, with a get-in price of just $2. Volquez takes the hill tonight with an 8-6 record and 3.65 ERA, serving as an integral part to the Pirates success over the season’s first half. Ryu has also impressed for the Dodgers, going 10-5 with a 3.44 ERA in 18 starts this season.

7/22 – Josh Beckett vs Vance Worley | Avg. Price: $22 | Get-in Price: $3

The second game of the series will be played on Tuesday and will feature Pirates pitcher Vance Worley against the Dodgers’ Josh Beckett. The average secondary price for Tuesday Pirates vs Dodgers tickets is $22, 65.4% below season average, with a get-in price of $3. Worley enters Tuesday’s game with a 2-1 record and 3.38 ERA while Beckett is 6-5 with a 2.26 ERA and will play with a torn labrum with two cysts on his left hip.

7/23 – Dan Haren vs Francisco Liriano | Avg. Price: $24 | Get-in Price: $5

The series’ final game will see Pirates lefty Francisco Liriano match up against Dodgers pitcher Dan Haren. The average secondary price for Wednesday Pirates vs Dodgers tickets is $24, the most expensive of the series but still 62.3% below season average, with a get-in price of $5. Liriano has pitched poorly this season, posting just a 1-7 record and 4.43 ERA while also making a trip to the disabled list in June for a strained left oblique. Haren has put up moderate numbers as he enters Wednesday’s game at 8-7 with a 4.30 ERA.

While the Pirates sit in third place in the NL Central, they are just 1.5 games out of first place in perhaps the most competitive division in the league. The Brewers and Cardinals have battled for first place in recent weeks as they both sit atop the division with 54-45 records but also see the Pirates trailing closely behind. The Dodgers schedule has been spent with some strict competition from the Giants as both teams also sit in first place in the NL West.
