Pirate fans, we know…. sometimes it’s hard to let go.  Everybody wonders how their favorite ex-Pirates are doing this spring so with the Pirates having an off day tomorrow, we went on a quick hunt.   Just think of RumBunter as your Facebook.  You know, so you can check out your old sweethearts.

Ronny Paulino is hitting .500 with 11 hits in 22AB with the Marlins.  He has three doubles and two RBI.

Robinzon Diaz has five hits in 12 at-bats for the Tigers with three RBI.

Adam LaRoche is tearing it up for the  Arizona Diamondbacks.  He has a .476OBP, .810SLG, and a .476AVG with two HR and seven RBI.

Freddy Sanchez is hurt again.  Send get well wishes to this address.

Jack Wilson has four hits in 12 at-bats for the Seattle Mariners

Aramis Ramirez has four hits in 17 at-bats for the Cubs.  He has a .222OBP

Nyjer Morgan has three hits in 21 at-bats for the winless Nats.  He has stolen two bases, but has only a .182OBP, come on Tony Plush…

Nate McLouth has [gulp] one hit in 22 at-bats with the Braves.  The contacts must not be helping. 

Xavier Nady has two hits in nine at bats for his new team the Cubs with a double.

Ian Snell has a 1.80 ERA in five IP for the Mariners.  He has allowed four hits, and an earned run while walking one and striking out three.

Tom Gorzelanny is settling in with the Cubbies this spring.  His ERA is high at 5.40ERA, but Gorzo has pitched five innings giving up just one hit, walking three and striking out five.  He has allowed three earned runs.

John Grabow has been roughed up a bit this spring.   He has allowed six hits in his four outings of one inning a piece.  He has allowed three earned runs, walked a batter and struck out two for the Cubs.

Sean Burnett has pitched just two innings for the Nats.  They weren’t good.  His ERA is 22.50 after giving up four earned runs on five hits a walk and two strikeouts.

Matt Capps has appeared in four games for the Nats allowing seven hits, including one homer in surrendering five earned runs.  The Mad Capper has walked two and struck out two.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are the worst team of the decade.  Baseball, Football, Soccer, hell you name the sport.  Unless you’re from Kansas City don’t even try to argue.    The Royals may have lost 100 games in four of five seasons, but at least the Royals found a way to finish above 0.500 once during the decade. 

The Pirates can only celebrate May 29, 2004.  Because it was the latest date in any season,  in the entire decade, the Pirates were over .500.
