Ex-Pittsburgh Pirates players set to return to PNC Park

The biggest return this weekend will undoubtedly be outfielder Starling Marte. Form 2012-2019 Marte was a staple in the Pirate lineup. During his tenure with the Bucs he was a National League All-Star and a two-time Gold Glove Award winner in left field.

Marte was also a key cog in the Pirates making the postseason in three consecutive seasons from 2013-2015. Marte is one of the most gifted and all-around talented players in Pirate history. He deserves to be greeted with nothing but cheers and applause this weekend.

In addition to Marte, former Pirate outfielder Corey Dickerson will also return to PNC Park this weekend. Dickerson played for the Pittsburgh in 2018 and started the 2019 season with club before being traded to the Philadelphia Phillies at the July 31 trade deadline.

Like Marte, Dickerson is off to a strong start this season. Through 182 plate appearances he has hit for a .287/.352/.402 slash line to go with a .116 ISO, 13 extra base hits (9 doubles, 2 home runs, 2 triples) and a 116 wRC+.
